Choose the Right Type of Shingle

For nearly 130 years, GAF has been the leader for roofing materials and shingle types in the United States.

At Tri County Roofing we are proud to partner with GAF as a Master Elite installer, and we bring to you three of the most popular shingle types in the country. As you start your plans to replace or build a new roof, consider these options.

3 Tab Royal Sovereign

Replacing a roof can easily cost you several thousand dollars, with shingles accounting for a significant portion of that amount. The 3-Tab Royal Sovereign shingles are the most affordable of the shingle types offered by GAF, but they maintain a high level of quality, making them highly sought after by homeowners.

These shingles are constructed with a fiberglass and asphalt blend that not only protects your home from the elements, but is rated to withstand up to 115 mph winds.

What really makes these shingles stand out is their Color Lock design, which guarantees your shingles will hold their color and look great from the road for many years to come.

Timberline Hi-Def

The Timberline HD shingles are a mid-tier option that considerably increases the curb appeal and resale value of your home. Though they are made of fiberglass and asphalt, they have the appearance of a wood-shake roof.

The HD color scheme creates a color contrast unavailable on most shingle types that adds depth and richness to your home’s exterior.

However, looks aren’t the only thing that set the Timberline HD shingles apart. They are highly rated for their durability and adhesion; using Dura Grip technology they can withstand winds of 130 MPH.

Designer

For high end roofs, nothing beats GAF’s Designer shingle lines. Created to emulate wood-shake and shale roofs, the Designer line transforms your roof into a work of art.

Custom color palettes are available to match the hue of the shingles to the rest of your home’s exterior, and the StainGuard protection ensures your roof won’t become discolored with algae.

Rated to withstand winds of over 130 MPH, there is little risk of the shingles blowing off your roof in anything but a devastating weather event. These shingles also come with a class A fire rating, adding an extra layer of protection to your home.
